Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner?
It has been another exciting year here at Joint Reaction with many new things happening in the clinic. If your year flew by as fast as ours did it may have easy to forget to take advantage of your health insurance benefits before they expire. Once they expire, you don't get that money back!
There's no better time then now to review your employment insurance benefits to see what you may be entitled to including: massage, physiotherapy orthotics, etc.
Chiropractic care is covered by most extended health insurance. Chiropractors are primary contact health care professionals so you will not need a Doctor's referral to see a chiropractor. This means that patients can book an appointment with a chiropractor directly. Read more about our chiropractic services here.
Our clinic also offers customized orthotics services. Your custom orthotics are designed by combining a casting of your feet with a static and dynamic computerized scan with the GaitScan™. Most extended health insurance plans include some coverage for custom orthotics. Please check your health care plan for the amount of coverage and if they require a medical doctor’s prescription. Chiropractic care, physiotherapy, massage therapy and orthotics can all be used preventatively. In fact there are many benefits to doing so.
While physiotherapy may be more commonly known for rehabilitation, prehabilitation is becoming an increasingly popular reason for physio visits. The term prehabilitation was coined to describe proactive injury or illness prevention.
Chiropractic care can: improve movement in your joints, improve your posture, and provide relief from headaches, neck and back pain. It can also help prevent work-related muscle and joint injuries, lead to enhanced athletic performance and improve your flexibility and range of motion.
Massage can help release chronic muscle tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical stress, promote faster healing of injured muscles, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Your Registered Massage Therapist will assist you in restoring, maintaining and enhancing your well-being.
This is a typically busy time in our clinic; so don’t miss your chance to book a massage with an RMT, an adjustment with our chiropractor or an initial exam with one of our physiotherapists and get the most of your insurance benefits!
